General Information
At Salle Paul Phoenix, we understand how valuable having a coach by the piste can be on competition day. Our coaching team provides support at selected domestic competitions throughout the season, helping our fencers perform at their best when it matters.
Our aim is to provide our fencers with the best possible competition support while creating a fair and sustainable coaching system for everyone representing Salle Paul Phoenix.
Domestic Competitions
We provide coaching at a selection of domestic competitions. The list of competitions where coaching is going to be available is published on this page and will be updated throughout the season.
For these selected events, the club will allocate one or more coaches depending on the number of Salle Paul Phoenix fencers participating. This allows us to provide appropriate coaching support while ensuring that our coaches can effectively manage the fencers competing across different age groups and events.
Competition coaching fees are shown in the table below. Fees contribute towards the cost of providing coaching at the event, including travel and other associated expenses.
Please note that competition coaching is a shared service. While our coaches will support all Salle Paul Phoenix fencers, we cannot guarantee that a coach will be available at the piste for every individual bout, particularly when several fencers are competing at the same time.
Competition coaching support for events listed on our Supported Competitions list is not optional. All fencers representing Salle Paul Phoenix Academy at these competitions are required to pay the applicable competition coaching fee, regardless of the level of coaching support they receive on the day.
International Competitions
International competitions are organised differently and are not included within the domestic competition coaching programme or pricing structure. Fencers who would like coaching support at an international competition can discuss their requirements directly with the coaching team. Requests should be made in person and as early as possible, particularly where travel and accommodation arrangements may be required.
The coaching team will consider each request based on coach availability, the competition schedule and the number of fencers attending. Any applicable coaching, travel and accommodation costs will be discussed and agreed separately.
