SPP veterans fencing in teams for different regions

Veteran fencers flocked to the national sports centre at Lilleshall for the Veterans Winton Cup on the weekend of 19/20 September. Salle Paul Phoenix was well represented in the epee teams across a number of regions: Simon Pink and Mariette Mason for South East, Richard Roseblade for Eastern, Hugh Kernohan as part of Northern Britain, and Jeremy Baker and Philip Jordan both for London.

The over a competition was won by South East for the 10th consecutive year. The individual weapon competitions were very closely fought.

In the Women’s Epee competition Mariette’s team were beaten into second place by Yorkshire.

In the men’s epee competition whilst all the teams were very evenly matched, Simon Pink’s South East team squeezed victory by the narrowest of margins from Richard’s Eastern Region.

Such a great result and we’re looking forward to our veterans competing in Tbilisi at the Veterans World Championships very soon!
