Women’s Sabre

Keira Donnelly-Sallows won three of her six poule matches. She got a bye through the L128 after being seeded 49th. Her L96 match was against Ayakoz Jumamuratov (UZB). She made it a competitive match but eventually lost 15-11.

Catilin Maxwell got 1V3D in her poule. In the L128 she fenced against Anna Kourousi (GRE) and won the match 15-11. She met Nil Gungor (TUR) in the L96 and lost 15-7.

Sophia Potter won one and lost four in her poule. In the L128 she fenced against Viktoriia Korotchenko (UKR) and lost the bout 15-7.

Maria Chart won one of her six poule matches and unfortunately couldn’t make it through to the DEs.

Men’s Sabre

William Deary won three and lost three of his poule matches. In the L128 he fenced Manuel Bahamonde (CHI) and won by a convincing score of 15-3. His L96 match was against Musa Aymuratov (UZB) and he lost 15-9.

Barnaby Halliwell won four of his six poule bouts. In the L128 he fenced against PhongPhipat Ngam-Nuch and lost the match 15-13.

Olympios Gougoulias got 1V5D in his poule and didn’t make it through to the knockout rounds.

Samuel Allen was sadly ill on the day of the competition and couldn’t fence. This was a massive shame for Sam but hopefully we will be able to see him fence in the team event.

Women’s Epee

Jessica Rogerson had a tough poule and she unfortunately couldn’t find a win and didn’t make it through to the DEs.
