Arthur Chen claims silver medal!

U14 Boys’ Sabre

Arthur Chen won four of his seven poule matches and seeded 5th going into the DEs. In the L16 he fenced against Dhairya Prabhu and won the match 12-7. He met Panagiotis Papatsikis in the round of 8 and he moved on to the medal rounds after a 12-8 victory. In the Semi-Final he went up against Bennett Joseph and after a tough fight, Arthur made his way into the final after winning the match 12-10. He didn’t manage to finish the competition with a victory and he lost to Edgar Aceves-Bech 12-6. He can still be proud to finish the tournament with a silver medal after some hard fought matches.

Conor Calabia got 3V3D in his poule. He had a close match in the L16 against Sebastian Milner and narrowly missed out on a victory, losing the fight 12-11.

U12 Girls’ Sabre

Emilie Chen won six of her seven poule bouts and was seeded 2nd going into the DEs. She fenced against Orla Flannery in the L8 and won by a comfortable score of 10-3. In the Semi-Final she had a very closely contested match against Poppy Smith and just missed out on making her way to the final, losing 10-9.
