Final women’s competition of the season

We had thirteen entries for this month’s club competition, making a strong quality tournament and helping our epee women emulate an environment akin to a domestic competition. This was the final women’s club comp of the 25/26 season and it didn’t disappoint.

After some close poule and DE matches prior, we were left with our Semi-Finalists: Charlie Follett, Lindsay Bottoms, Poppy Chennells and Emma Mitzova.

Semi-Finals

The first DE in this round was Charlie vs. Lindsay. After having a good showing in the poules by seeding first and fencing well in her previous DEs, Charlie came out on top with a 15-8 victory.

Semi No.2 was Poppy vs. Emma. This fight was always bound to be well contested by both fencers and it didn’t disappoint. In the end it was Emma who moved on to the final and won the match 15-10.

Final

We seem to be making it a habit of saving the best fights for the final in our club competitions. Here we saw Charlie and Emma going blow for blow, right up to the end of the bout. With very little to separate them, it was Emma who found the final touch and ended the tournament in first place, winning 15-14.
