Bronze medal for Simon Pink!

At the weekend, three of our fencers competed in the Civil Service Competition: David McKay, Philip Jordan and Simon Pink

Simon Pink won three and lost one in the poule. This result got him a bye into L8 where he beat George Boden in a close match finishing 15-13. In the Semi-Final Simon beat Brixton’s Harry Bloomfield. In the final he lost to Alex Seale but having trailed 7-22 at the end of the first period, he did well to come back and make the score close. He lost 15-14 and just missed out on making it to the final. Nevertheless, he finished with a bronze medal which highlighted a good day out for Simon.

David McKay went 1V3D in the poule round. In the L16 he kept his nerve and defeated Mark Siraut 15-14. He kept his L8 match competitive but wasn’t able to find the lead and lost to Alex Seale 15-10.

Philip Jordan went 3V1D in his poule. He got a bye into the L8 where he lost 15-9 to Tim Buzwell.
